Sarra Whicheloe is a bharatanatyam dancer and a qualified Iyengar Yoga teacher. She has been teaching dance and yoga since 2001.
Sarra works as an independent dancer. The premier of her first solo work BholeNath in 2006 was choreographed by Stella Subbiah for Akademi’s Daredevas. Satyam followed this in 2007, which was a solo bharatanatyam performance at the Nehru centre. For the past two years Sarra has been working for Sankalpam in Attam with performances at the South Bank and at regional theatres. She has also been touring Nirlima Devi’s Urjah (2007-8) throughout the Midlands.
As Beeja Dance Company from 2003-2006 Sarra was involved in site specific performances and education projects at venues like the Museum of London, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Day Care Centres and Primary Schools.
Now based in Cranleigh, Surrey, Sarra offers Indian dance workshop in schools and teaches bharatanatyam for Samskriti, a London based organiszation.
